The neighborhood which is located in the heart of Fluvanna County is about 20 minutes from Charlottesville Virginia and also within an hour commute to Richmond Virginia as well, so a large number of Lake Monticello residents actually work in Charlottesville.
The Lake Monticello golf course is an 18 hole par 72 semiprivate course designed to be playable by golfers of all levels. There is also a pro shop, professional instruction, practice facilities and a snack bar.
The 350 acre lake is at the heart of the Lake Monticello neighborhood. It is perfect for boating, fishing and water skiing. In addition there are five beaches that members may use for swimming, all with picnic facilities.
