What Do Charlottesville Golf Communities Do on a Freezing Sunday in February?

What Do Charlottesville Golf Communities Do on a Freezing Sunday in February?

This winter Charlottesville golf communities have been blessed with many days of mild weather suitable for enjoying a game of golf  this Sunday was not one of those days. Below freezing temperatures and wind do not tempt even the most hardy golfer out to the course.  So what is a golf addict to do?  Why watch golf on tv of course and this Sunday’s fare did not dissappoint.

First we were treated to the women at the Australian Open and an exciting finish it was.  18 year old Jessica Korda, in a 6 way sudden death playoff, holed a 25 foot birdie putt to take the title.  An interesting sideline is that her father Petr Korda won the Australian Open in tennis in 1998, so Australia is good to the Korda family.

Next was the final day at Pebble Beach.  I loved watching Phil Michelson show us all how it should be done.  He put together an amazing final round to win the tournament and cinch his 40th tour victory.  Wow!  Of course it was a disappointing day for the Tiger Woods fans since at the end of round 3 he appeared to be poised to post a victory and prove that “he is back”.  However, he was unable to close and we watched him fall appart.  So we will have to continue to wait to see if he will once more dominate the sport.

I will admit that I did have to make a brief appearance outdoors with my golf clubs.  I had just been given the new Taylormade Razorball Z driver as an early birthday present (and no I will not share how old that makes me) and I just couldn’t resist trying it out.  So bundled up with way too many clothes on, I braved the cold and headed out to the yard with my practice balls.  Even with the wind and light balls I got a taste of what this driver can do.  I can’t wait to get out on the range and hit some real balls.

Winter is a great time to tour homes in Charlottesville golf communities and find that perfect golf course home.  Then you can be settled in your new home in time for the spring golfing season.
